Overview

The B.Sc. Nursing degree is a 4-year course with a curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge and clinical experiences, providing a strong foundation for students beginning their journey in the field of nursing. Beyond hands-on training, the course covers various subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Nursing Foundations, Nutrition, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and many more.

B.Sc. Nursing sets a strong base for students aspiring to later pursue postgraduate degrees and doctoral studies in nursing. It is centered around bringing positive change by serving society with compassion and skill.

Minimum Eligibility for Admission

Program Outline

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values required to deliver compassionate care in any healthcare setting. The program spans four years and combines classroom learning, laboratory training, and extensive clinical experience.

Semester I:

  • Communicative English
  • Applied Anatomy
  • Applied Physiology
  • Applied Sociology
  • Applied Psychology
  • Nursing Foundation-I (with First Aid module)

Semester II:

  • Applied Biochemistry/Applied Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Nursing Foundation-II (with Health Assessment module)
  • Health/Nursing Informatics & Technology

Semester III:

  • Applied Microbiology and Infection Control including Safety
  • Pharmacology-I
  • Pathology-I
  • Adult Health (Medical Surgical) Nursing-I with integrated pathophysiology (with BCLS module)

Semester IV:

  • Pharmacology-II (with Fundamentals of Prescribing module)
  • Pathology-II & Genetics
  • Adult Health Nursing-II with integrated pathophysiology including Geriatric Nursing (with Palliative care module)
  • Professionalism, Professional Values & Ethics including Bioethics

Semester V:

  • Child Health Nursing-I (with ENBC, FBNBC, IMNCI and PLS modules)
  • Mental Health Nursing-I
  • Community Health Nursing-I (including Environmental Science & Epidemiology)
  • Educational Technology/Nursing Education
  • Introduction to Forensic Nursing and Indian Laws

Semester VI:

  • Child Health Nursing-II
  • Mental Health Nursing-II
  • Nursing Management & Leadership
  • Midwifery/Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG) Nursing-I (with SBA Module)

Semester VII:

  • Community Health Nursing-II
  • Nursing Research & Statistics
  • Midwifery/Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG) Nursing-II (with Safe delivery app module)

Semester VIII:

  • Internship (Intensive Practicum/Residency Posting)

Graduates can pursue clinical roles (Staff Nurse, ICU Nurse, OR Nurse, ER Nurse), educational roles (Nursing Educator, Clinical Trainer), or other positions such as Travel Nurse, School Health Nurse, Telehealth Nurse, and Public Health Nurse. You can also pursue M.Sc. (N) for further specialization.
