Overview
A Master's degree in Physiotherapy (MPT) is a postgraduate program of 2 years, focusing on advanced concepts and techniques in the field of physiotherapy. Students will learn about various specializations such as musculoskeletal sciences, neurological sciences, paediatrics, sports sciences, cardiovascular and pulmonary sciences, and movement sciences. Pursuing an MPT allows students to gain a deeper understanding of research methodologies and provides them with the opportunity to conduct independent research and present their findings. Our Institute has been awarded "The Indian Association of Physiotherapists" (IAP) Certificate of Membership, and students who have successfully passed the prescribed examination and completed the Internship for the BPT degree from our Institute are eligible for the membership of IAP as per prevailing norms. To be eligible for admission to the MPT program, candidates must have passed B.Sc. (PT) or BPT degree from institutions offering full-time programs with a minimum duration of 3½ to 4½ years from this university or any other university in India or abroad, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and must have completed 6 months of compulsory rotating internship in Physiotherapy Colleges recognized by RGUHS-Karnataka. Alternatively, candidates who have passed BPT through Bridge Course or Lateral Entry after completing their Diploma in Physiotherapy from institutions with full-time programs meeting the same marks and internship requirements are also eligible, however, candidates who have passed BPT through correspondence or Distance Education programs are not eligible for admission. Program Outline
The program is a 2-year course with a curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, including physiotherapy, biomechanics, community rehabilitation, electrophysiology, paediatrics, and research methodology.
