Overview
A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy is an undergraduate program of 4 years, followed by a 6-month internship that prepares students to become licensed Physiotherapists. Other than theoretical and clinical sessions, the program includes supervised experiences in various medical settings such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. Graduates of the program can take the license exam to practise as a physiotherapist.
Minimum Eligibility for Admission
- The Candidate should have passed 2 years of Pre-University Examination or 12th Examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any equivalent examining authority with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually.
- The Candidate should have passed the examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate examination established by the State Government/Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a 2-year Pre-University Examination by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/Association of Indian Universities (AIU). He / She shall have passed subjects such Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually.
- Candidates who have completed Pre-University course with Vocational Physiotherapy as their optional subjects are eligible for admission to BPT course.
Program Outline
The program includes a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience. Students have sessions to learn about the human body, including anatomy and physiology, as well as the principles of physical therapy and rehabilitation. They also learn about the different techniques used in physiotherapy, such as manual therapy, exercise prescription, and the use of assistive devices.

What is the duration of the BPT course?
The duration of the BPT course shall be 4.5 years, including an internship of 6 months.
What are the eligibility criteria to join the BPT program?
A candidate seeking admission to the BPT course must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, and must have obtained not less than 40% marks taken together in PCB.
What subjects are taught in the BPT course?
The curriculum includes Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Therapy, Electrotherapy, Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy, and Community Rehabilitation.

We also organize workshops, support documentation for accreditations like NAAC, and submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR). Through these efforts, IQAC attempts to significantly impact institutional growth.
