Subject: Report on the vibrant celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava 2025 at Harsha Institute

Harsha Institute celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava on  November 8th 2025 with great pride, enthusiasm and cultural spirit on campus, commemorating the formation of the state of Karnataka. The event was organized with the objective of promoting Kannada language, culture and heritage among students and staff.

The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, an esteemed former Programme Director at All India Radio, whose presence added significance and dignity to the celebration. The Chief Guest was warmly received by the guest escorting team and honoured with a ceremonial traditional headgear (Mysuru peta) as a mark of respect. An aarti was performed as part of the traditional welcome arrangement, following which he was escorted amidst cultural fervour.

Students welcomed the Chief Guest with vibrant performances such as Veeragaase and Dollu Kunitha, which reflected the rich folk traditions of Karnataka. Students from various departments participated enthusiastically by dressing in traditional Kannada attire and portraying various deities indigenous to the Kannada region, creating a colourful and culturally immersive atmosphere.

The programme formally commenced with the Kannada Anthem (Nada Geethe). The Guest of Honour greeted the student platoon, interacted with them, and took photographs. The dignitaries were then led to the main stage set up on the campus where a traditional lamp lighting ceremony marked the official inauguration of the event.

The Chief Guest delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of preserving Kannada language and regional culture in the modern world. Several faculty members also addressed the gathering, expressing their thoughts on the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava and encouraging students to uphold cultural values and linguistic identity.

This was followed by a range of cultural programmes, including dances, Dollu Kunitha, Pooja Kunitha, and Veeragaase.

Each performance received warm appreciation from the audience and showcased the artistic talent of the students.

In addition to the cultural performances, numerous food stalls were set up by the students, offering a variety of delicacies, which added a festive charm to the celebration. A special lunch was arranged for all students, faculty, and staff as part of the celebration. Additional a musical band performed popular Kannada songs, spreading joy and entertainment among the gathering and concluding the celebration on a lively note.

The Kannada Rajyotsava celebration at Harsha Institute was a memorable event that fostered cultural pride and unity among the students and staff, making it a grand success.
